The Junior Olympic Archery Development program was developed to provide this country's youth with a safe, disciplined archery training program. This program not only teaches children the fundamentals of archery, but also promotes fun and enjoyment for the entire family. The National Archery Association has structured an achievement program that rewards improvement and stresses participation, so that the archers can grow independently in a group situation. If one qualifies, a JOAD member could potentially become an Olympic and international archery contestant.

We at Pelkey's Archery are pleased to continue our affiliation with the National Archery Association (NAA) so that we may host Vermont's finest Junior Olympic Archery Development club, known as Vermont Junior Archers JOAD. We are both proud and excited to participate in the NAA's JOAD program as it has been the driving force in the development of archery in this country.
Our classes are run by NAA Level III, Level II and Level I instructors. Classes are limited to twelve students to ensure safety and personalized instruction. There will be games and tournaments, in addition to instruction, as well as "Spirit Week" and testing for JOAD achievement awards. Club membership also qualifies students to participate in local and out-of-state tournaments.
Any young person who is interested in the sport of archery and:

Archers may rent equipment or use their personal equipment. The JOAD program welcomes all ages and abilities, beginners to experts, as well as all equipment disciplines, both recurve and compound.

In addition to the club fees, each archer must be a member of the National Archery Association ($30 annual membership).
